It is widely recognized that personality traits are closely related to emotional expression. To explore the relationship between personality and tendencies in emotional expression, we extended a commonly used emotion recognition dataset IEMOCAP by annotating it with Big Five personality traits. This study investigates the following questions:
What is the correlation between personality traits and emotional expression?
Can incorporating personality information improve emotion recognition performance?
Our analysis aims to shed light on the interplay between personality and emotion, while also evaluating the potential of personality-informed models to enhance emotion recognition systems.
